-WHY DOES MY SLIDE NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY?-Updated 3 months ago

If your firearm slide is not closing after inserting your laser cartridge, there could be a few potential reasons for this:

  • Racking the Slide: The most common reason the slide does not close with the Laser Cartridge inserted is it has not been appropriately racked. Many users are cautious about damaging the laser cartridge and slowly walk the slide forward instead of racking it with the same speed as when using live ammo. Slowly walking the slide forward will cause the laser cartridge to sit incorrectly.

  • Correct Caliber: Double-check that you are using the correct caliber cartridge that matches your firearm’s caliber. If you are using a 9mm, and the cartridge is just a little too long, you can try a .380 cartridge instead. The .380 Laser Cartridge is the same diameter as the 9mm, but it is shorter.  Please reference this guide if you are unsure how to tell your firearm's caliber.

  • Improper Installation: Ensure you insert the laser cartridge correctly with the laser end facing the barrel and the rubber button on the back facing the firing pin.

  • Weak Recoil Spring: Your firearm’s recoil spring might be worn out or weak, affecting the slide’s ability to cycle fully.

  • Compatibility Issue: Although we can’t test every firearm, we have tested the following and know they are incompatible with our lasers:

  • Ruger SR series
  • Ruger LCP2
  • Walther PPK
  • Walther CCP
  • Beretta AX100
  • Beretta 92X Centurion
  • Marlin 336
  • SAA 1873 Replica
  • Winchester Model 54

If you are still having trouble after checking these common causes, please email photos to [email protected] and we will help you to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
